License List is a private directory. We are not affiliated with any government agency, licensing board, or department. We are not a licensing authority and we cannot issue, renew, suspend or reinstate anyone's licence.
What this site is
We publish licence records that Minnesota agencies make public — the Department of Labor and Industry for contractors, the Department of Human Services and the Department of Health for care providers — alongside information some businesses have given us about themselves.
Using the directory is free. It will stay free.
What we do and don't promise about the information
We show licence status the way the state record shows it, with the date we read it. Records change and our copy can be out of date. Before you hire anyone, check the current record with the state directly.
A licence on this site is not a recommendation. We have not inspected anyone's work, met them, or checked their insurance. We do not rank businesses by quality and we do not vouch for any of them. Deciding who to hire is your decision.
Information a business supplied about itself — photos, services, prices, service area — is that business's claim, not something we verified. We show it differently from state data so you can tell them apart.
If something about you here is wrong, email info@thelicenselist.com with the business name and licence number. If our copy differs from the state record, we will correct it. If you disagree with the state record itself, that has to be taken up with the state — we won't publish anything that contradicts it.
Claiming a listing
Any licensed business can claim its own listing for free. We ask you to confirm your business name, licence number and address from your own records. That is how we know a claim comes from the owner, because there is no login on the claim form.
Don't claim a listing that isn't yours. We can remove a claim and decline future ones.
Paid plans
Two plans, both optional:
- Verified Listing — $12 a month, or $120 a year
- Verified Listing + Local Ads — $24 a month, or $240 a year
What money does not buy: position. No payment, of any kind, changes where a business appears in any list on this site. Ordering comes from what has been verified and filled in, all of which is free to earn. Paid ads appear beside the list, never inside it, are labelled as ads, and the order they appear in is random.
What money buys: photos and a fuller profile on your own page, and — on the $24 plan — a place in the rotating ad space for the towns you have told us you serve.
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the billing link in your receipt. Cancelling returns your page to the free version. Your page is never taken down.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Refunds are at our discretion; ask and we'll be reasonable.
Using the site
Don't scrape the site in bulk, don't try to break it, and don't use it to harass anyone. We can block access that does any of those.
The dull but necessary part
The site is provided as it is. To the extent Minnesota law allows, Nodding Onion LLC is not liable for losses arising from your use of the directory or from any dealings with a business listed on it. These terms are governed by Minnesota law.
We may change these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did.
